Celebrating the International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2024: A SYNSENSO Perspective

On this International Day of Women and Girls in Science 2024, we at SYNSENSO are proud to join the global community in celebrating the critical role that women and girls play in science and technology.

This year, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGIS) focuses on the role of Women and Girls in Science as it relates to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The IDWGIS aims to connect the International Community to Women and Girls in Science, strengthening the ties between science, policy, and society for strategies oriented towards the future.

The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions have a vital role in supporting Europe’s progress towards gender equality in research and innovation. Being a MSCA Doctroal Network, we asked three of our SYNSENSO Doctoral Candidates for their thoughts on the day:

As we celebrate this day, let’s remember that gender equality in science and technology is not just about fairness, but also about unleashing our world’s enormous untapped talent. Let’s continue to fill our classrooms, laboratories, and boardrooms with women scientists.
